In his welcome message on the Home page, ISKCON Minister of Book Distribution Vijaya Dasa writes, “We hope this website will inspire you to do what was very pleasing to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada—book distribution. Here you will find book distribution stories, quotes, videos, audio, images, etc. In short, you will learn of the importance Srila Prabhupada placed on book distribution for our ISKCON. Srila Prabhupada’s books have changed hundreds of thousands of lives in a very positive way. The mission of this website is to increase the number of people who have been blessed by reading Srila Prabhupada’s transcendental words of wisdom.”
Because there is so much to look at on the site, it has three menus to help you find everything. On the very top menu bar are some links to general information, including inspirational messages for those taking part in the yearly book distribution marathon, a biography of Srila Prabhupada, discussions about the philosophical basis of book distribution, and links for contacting the website owners, as well a link for subscribing to receive an email when new content is added.
A Treasury of Stories
On the next menu bar, a little further down, is the Home page link that will always bring you back to the front page. Next to that, click on the Stories link to find page after page of book distributors’ inspiring stories of their experiences out on the streets. The navigation buttons near the bottom of the stories page show there are 197 pages of stories from all around the world.
Under the News link are Sankirtan Newsletters and distribution reports from various centers worldwide. When you click on the Video link you will be surprised at the range of videos you can watch: Srila Prabhupada talking about his books, seminars on book distribution, videos of devotees distributing books, as well as lectures, interviews, and dramas—all to inspire you to distribute Srila Prabhupada’s books. The Audio link lets you listen to interviews, lectures, and seminars about book distribution.
Photos, Quotes, and Free E-books
Click on the Gallery link to find posters and banners; photos of devotees on book distribution in parks, prisons, homes, offices, supermarkets, and streets; and photos of Srila Prabhupada with his beloved books.
Under the Quotes link are hundreds of inspiring quotes from Prabhupada giving encouragement on everything to do with book distribution.
The eBook link reveals a variety of free downloadable books to inspire you, such as the Vaishnava Training and Education handbook on book distribution.
At the end of the menu bar is the Action link. Here you will find information on making stalls, planning festivals, and becoming a weekend book-distributor.
The Home page is filled with links to the latest stories, videos, audio recordings, and resources to support you and inspire you in book distribution. At the bottom of the page is the final menu: quick links categorized under the headings Read, Video, Audio, and Images to help you quickly find what you are looking for.
