WELCOME  New Vrindaban, ISKCON's first farm community, in the foothills of West Virginia, has seen its ups and downs over the years. During one particularly challenging period, many devotees around the world wondered if it would survive. But some of its dedicated residents ("inmates" in Prabhupada's charming language) pressed on, weathered the hard times, and are still there today as the community moves steadily ahead to fulfill the goals Prabhupada set for it. Satyaraja Dasa's cover story in this issue gives us a good look at the past, present, and future of this important project in Prabhupada's worldwide movement.

Srila Prabhupada's lecture that opens this issue was given at New Vrindaban, and he speaks about the importance of living in goodness, a fitting tie-in to that community's mission.

Karuna Dharini Devi Dasi's "In Excess of Our Quota" continues the theme of living happily with what Krishna in His wisdom provides us.

This issue also includes another excerpt from ISKCON's ever-growing body of literature. This one is from Sri Manah-shiksha, by Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami, one of the Six Goswamis, prominent contemporary followers of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. This edition of the work contains commentaries by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and ISKCON devotees.
